BED
BERLIN TABLE

BED

This bed is composed of two identical storage units which combine to form a single queen-sized bed, when separated each unit can be used independently as a twin bed. Designed for derelict apartments and tight urban quarters, the base unit is supported on rockers which are held in place by rubber chocks. This allows the bed to sit level on the most uneven flooring. Remove the chocks and the bed rocks.

Perforated wood panels supported on neoprene wafers act as bed springs and allow for air circulation between the mattress and the storage unit below.

BERLIN TABLE

Four pristine slabs of oiled american cherry contrast a pale birch plywood base. The table is designed to be taken apart easily and repeatedly: the components are connected by stainless steel bolts to steel sleeves imbedded in the plywood.

The design is reductive, meant to highlight the cherry tabletop using a relatively mute base expressive of its structural function.
